Graduate students apply to specific departments and programs for admission to UCSB
through a general application submitted to the Graduate Division. For a list of
the graduate degree programs offered at UCSB, click here.
If you are admitted to
a graduate program at UCSB, the Office of International Students and Scholars will
send you a Form I-20 to present at a US consulate in your home country in order
to obtain an F-1 visa. This is the visa that you would use if your funding is from
private family sources and/or UCSB funding. If your funding comes from your home
university or government, you will be sent a Form DS 2019 and will apply for the
J-1 visa status. Click here for application information and forms for graduate study
at UCSB.
